Vaillant Group, German heating and ventilation manufacturer, set up its first Asian-Pacific research and development (R&D) center in the city of Wuxi, Jiangsu province on Sept 8, the Chinese-language Wuxi Daily reported.
The R&D center was set up to enhance the research, development and manufacturing capacity of Vaillant (Wuxi) Heating Equipment Co., which was built in Wuxi New District (WND) in 2007, said Klaus Jesse, business director of Vaillant's international department, adding that the key factor for Vaillant to choose Wuxi as its R&D base was the fact that the city is home to well-developed related industries.
The Group helped improve China's traditional heat supply mode for decades, by providing household-based heat supply equipment for Chinese consumers. "We are spreading the concept of household-based heat supply, which is more energy saving than traditional centralized heating system, which would also help improve Wuxi's environment," said Wang Weidong, Vaillant Group's general manager in China.
Headquartered in Remscheid, Germany, Vaillant Group is a leading company in the development of heating, cooling and hot water products and solutions, with a history of more than 140 years. With 12,000 employees, it now has a presence in more than 20 countries and regions and its products are sold in more than 60 countries. The company currently has a 27 percent market share in Europe and 23 percent globally.
