Located at the Wuxi National High-Tech Industrial Development Zone, the Wuxi (National) Software Park (iPark) consists of the Jiangsu Software Outsourcing Industrial Park and Creative Industrial Park. It only takes 10 minutes to drive from the software park to Sunan (Shuofang) International Airport. Covering an area of nearly 500,000 square meters, the software park is under the management of Wuxi Software Industry Development Co. Estate management is handled by DTZ, a global leader in property services. Catering is provided by Sodexo, a Global 500 company and the second largest company in the outsourcing industry.

There are four platforms – investment financing, public technology, integrated services and education – in the software park. The China Telecom International Data Center (IDC) has also been established here. It is a strategic platform for industrial structure upgrading in Wuxi New District.

The park has been awarded with 10 national and provincial titles, including National Torch Program Software Industrial Base, National High-Tech Industry Base for Micro-Electronics, National Animation Game Industry Revitalization Base, National Animation Industry Base, Jiangsu Cultural & Creative Industry Park and Jiangsu Provincial Pilot Area for Outsourcing of International Service. Also, Wuxi (National) Software Park was awarded the title of "2007 Creative Base with the Most Investment Value in China" during the second China (Beijing) International Cultural & Creative Industry Expo, becoming a famous software park with the distinguishing features of the Yangtze River Delta.

The software park boasts 485 registered enterprises, including 76 software enterprises, eight enterprises with qualifications above CMM Ⅲ and 22 IC design enterprises recognized by the State. The enterprises account for around 50 percent of those in Jingsu province. In terms of software and information service outsourcing, there are such backbone enterprises as NEC, Thunis, Huaxia Computer, Yokoshin, TIC and NTT Data. Many home-made application enterprises and Japanese outsourcing enterprises may expand quickly. Also, European and American outsourcing is continuously boosted in the software park.

In terms of the cultural and creative industry, an animation industry chain has taken shape here, including creating, making, issuing, broadcasting, financing and derivatives development. Meanwhile, the software park has become the home for over 80 software and animation enterprises such as the "Touch Core" Mobile Industry Alliance, Shanghai Cartoon, Shanghai Animation Film Studio, Sun Media Group and Dragoninfo. In terms of the IC industry, the software park includes the IC industrial cluster (Taihu Lake Silicon Valley), which is based on Hynix-STMicroelectronics, Toshiba, Infineon, Memsic, CETC 58, CETC 58 and China Resources Microelectronics (nearly one-third of the IC industry in the Yangtze River Delta and nearly one-fifth of the IC industry in China). So far, eight original works have been broadcast on CCTV, including Chihuahua 2006, awarded the 23rd Chinese TV Golden Eagle Award for Best Short and Medium-Length Cartoon and Puppet Film and the Gold Prize of the China International Exposition of the Audio-Visual Industry for Audiovisual Products in 2006; Orient God Baby, winner of the Outstanding Domestic Cartoon award; Imperial Palace, a full-length documentary film televised during primetime on CCTV 1; Tail Fantasy, the first 3D digital animation in Jiangsu province; Legend of the Eight Immortals; Big Mouth Dudu; Young Huo Yuanjia; and Rabbit Watches Olympic Games.

Based on the Wuxi Taihu Lake Conservation Area-Pilot Area for Chinese Service Outsourcing, the iPark will spare no efforts to expand and improve its functionality as a platform. Through the further development of the software industry and competitive industry supporting policies, the iPark will become a first class software community in China. As planned, it can achieve software output value of 36 billion yuan ($5.86 billion) and software export of $800 million, as well as have 100,000 employees in the software industry by 2010, becoming one of the top 10 software parks in China.
