Food competition showcases local specialties

Xinwu district hosted its 2nd Cooking Competition on Nov 19.

Sixty experienced chefs from 25 local restaurants participated in the competition, presenting a variety of exciting dishes. The distinctive presentation and flavors of the food seemed to make a big impression on visitors.

Over 40 local Wuxi specialties and 50 agricultural products from Haidong, a city in Northwest China's Qinghai province, were also exhibited during the event.

The specialties from Haidong, which included black garlic, highland beef, mutton, black wolfberry, and highland barley wine, were available for purchase.

Xinwu district, Wuxi established a close relationship with Huzhu town, Haidong in 2017 and the two have since implemented a number of projects involving industrial poverty alleviation, culture, education, and health care.
