The annual Hongshan Grape Cultural Tourism Festival began on July 18 and will run for one month. It will feature a series of activities related to grapes at the Hongshan Ecological Vineyard.
The Hongshan Grape has become an iconic fruit of Hongshan town due to the town's suitable soil and the unremitting efforts of local farmers. The grape is popular throughout surrounding cities.
Hongshan town, located in Wuxi's Xinwu district, is known for its attractive natural scenery, making it a popular summer tourist destination.

During the opening ceremony, a grape fair and cooking competition for chefs were held. The logo, mascot and theme song for the Hongshan Tourism Zone were also launched.
Officials said visitors who are not able to participate in the event in person can watch the live stream online. Hosts will introduce tourist attractions and sell Hongshan specialties.
