Jiangsu Asia Electronics Technology Co, a leading integrated circuit equipment provider, agreed to build its new manufacturing base for wet-etching equipment in Wuxi National Hi-tech District (WND) on July 27.
The first phase of the project will cost a total of 1.5 billion yuan ($214 million) and will include the construction of R&D, testing and sales centers for wet-etching cleaning equipment of 12 inches and above, according to the company.
With a registered capital of 50 million yuan, the first phase of the project is expected to bring in total sales revenue of 100 million yuan in 2020. The company said the second phase will see the expansion of the R&D center and the construction of a new-product trial production base in WND.
WND Party Secretary Jiang Min attended the signing ceremony and described the development of the integrated circuit industry in WND. Jiang said that over many years of development, WND is now at the forefront of Wuxi's IC industry. Its IC industrial output value accounts for over 70 percent of the city's total and continues to grow every year.
WND has built a complete IC industrial chain, including packaging, testing and supporting services, Jiang said.
Jiangsu Asia Electronics Technology Co is a high-end equipment service provider in the integrated circuit wafer industry, focusing on wafer wet etching and cleaning technology. It is one of the first domestic enterprises to promote the localization of high-end semiconductor equipment.
