Wuxi hosted an exchange meeting to promote cooperation with Hangzhou, capital of East China's Zhejiang province, in developing digital economy on Aug 20.

A total of 47 deals worth 6 billion yuan ($867.9 million) were signed during the meeting, and 21 projects were signed with Wuxi National Hi-tech District (WND), accounting for 45 percent of the total investment.

The deals include building industrial bases, digital platforms and innovation centers with a focus on internet of things (IoT), big data, artificial intelligence and integrated circuits.

According to Wuxi Mayor Du Xiaogang, the city is striving to become a national demonstration city for the development of digital economy. During the meeting, he welcomed universities, scientific institutes and enterprises in Hangzhou to develop related projects in Wuxi.

Wuxi and Hangzhou have carried out a series of IoT cooperation projects, which have laid a solid foundation for further partnership. Du said the Wuxi government will continue to improve the city's business environment to facilitate the implementation of cooperation projects between enterprises and scientific institutes in the two cities.
