Xinwu district to open new high school

A branch school of Jiangsu Meicun Senior High School will be built in the Shuofang subdistrict of Wuxi's Xinwu district, according to a new plan released recently.

The new school will be built on the east side of Xuedian Road and on the north side of the Zuomatang River. Its construction land will cover about 100,251 square meters, while the total construction area is about 96,300 square meters.

The school will be made up of teaching buildings, laboratory buildings, student curriculum centers, student dormitories, cultural and sports buildings, canteens, swimming pools, as well as parking spaces. The school will be officially put into use in September 2022.

It will open 48 classes for 2,500 students, while employing 250 teachers and staff members.

A round building named "Mei Garden" will be built at the center of the school. With an inner diameter of 65 meters and an outer diameter of 85 meters, the building will be surrounded by multiple teaching buildings as an axis and connect them with each other, according to the plan.
