Xinwu included in provincial pilot plan to boost livability

Xinwu district of Wuxi was included in the five districts of Jiangsu province to pilot the construction of a beautiful and livable zone, local media reported on Sept 14.

In addition, a total of four projects carried out in Xinwu district were recognized as key provincial pilot projects to promote the improvement of residents' living environment.

Changjiang Road will be built into a compound characteristic block integrating urban transportation, neighborhood vitality, and leisurely charm. Work will be carried out to renovate the underground pipe network and construct the city's first outdoor corridor from the subway station to the bus station.

The district's water region restoration project includes water quality improvement and maintenance of the water in Dangdong area, as well as Wuxi (Taihu Lake) International Science and Technology Park.

New amenities will be added in Bodu River Park to meet the fitness, leisure, and parking needs of local residents.

In addition, the district will work on smart city construction to provide better services for businesses, transportation, and people's quality of life based on smart technologies.
