Wuxi wins national title for software sector

Wuxi in East China's Jiangsu province was named a Famous Software City by the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology recently, according to local media outlets on Dec 14.

The rapid development of Wuxi's software industry has been recognized nationally. According to the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology, Wuxi "has formed distinctive advantages in the internet of things and platform-based software fields."

From January to October this year, the business revenue of software industry in Wuxi reached 126.15 billion yuan ($19.82 billion), a year-on-year increase of 21.7 percent.

In 2021, 156 companies based in Wuxi saw their software business revenue exceed 100 million yuan. Sixteen software companies were also listed in domestic and overseas markets. Wuxi-based Longshine Technology Group and Huayun Data were listed among China's top 100 enterprises for software and information service competitiveness.

The leading role in the field of industrial software has created a comparative advantage for Wuxi-based enterprises to compete in the high-end market.

Wei Zhennan, CEO of Wuxi Masterlink Technology Co, said the company helps customers achieve digital transformation by integrating production management software and internet platform technology with production management processes.

It also builds a comprehensive data information system on the production site through equipment networking and data collection. In order to meet the needs of customers' digital transformation, the company combines sensors, edge computing, and cloud computing to help customers realize digital and intelligent production.

Due to the 2.0 version of the Taihu Talent Plan, Wuxi has introduced 167,000 talents to the innovation and development of the software and information technology service industry, according to officials.
