Agreements for two foreign-funded projects with over $100 million each in investment were signed to be carried out in the Wuxi National Hi-tech District during a provincial online trade fair on May 16.
With a total investment of $400 million, the newly signed agreements included the Asia-Pacific manufacturing base of German Merck Life Sciences disposable technology products and the WEM high-end motors R&D and production base.
During the online trade fair, four enterprises in WND were named regional headquarters of multinational companies, including York (Wuxi) Air Conditioning and Refrigeration Equipment Co, VIBRACOUSTIC (Wuxi) Vibration Isolators Co, BEP (China) Testing Equipment Co, and TDK-Lambda (China) Electronics Co.
In light of the COVID-19 epidemic, relevant departments of the local government of WND have been working to help enterprises resume work. A series of policies was released to ease the burden and reduce costs for local enterprises.
As of mid-May, WND had achieved newly contracted foreign capital of $2.39 billion and attracted a total of seven major projects, each with newly added contracted registered capital of more than $30 million.
