WND makes efforts to develop digital economy

A ceremony was held for the groundbreaking of Wuxi Yangtze River Delta Digital Economy Industrial Park and the signing of major technological innovation projects at the Wuxi National Software Park, Wuxi National Hi-tech District on June 10.

The Wuxi Yangtze River Delta Digital Economy Industrial Park will be built in the Wuxi National Software Park. It will have an investment totaling about 3 billion yuan ($446.21 million) and occupy a total land area of 107,000 square meters, with a total construction area of about 360,000 square meters.

The digital economy industrial park will accelerate Wuxi National Software Park's efforts to become a leading digital economy park nationwide, according to officials.

Thirty major scientific and technological innovation projects with a total investment of over 10.8 billion yuan ($1.61 billion) were signed into effect at the ceremony. The projects feature industries such as internet of things, big data and cloud computing, as well as future sectors such as artificial intelligence, 5G applications, quantum technology and blockchain development.

Cui Rongguo, Party secretary of WND, said that as the main area developing digital economy in Wuxi, WND is committed to becoming a digital economy development pioneer and demonstration area with the most concentrated digital industry economy, the most abundant digital resources, the most sufficient digital application scenarios, and the most active digital ecosystem.
