The oriental white stork (ciconia boyciana), a species that enjoys national first-class protected status and is known as the "National Treasure of the Bird", was spotted in the inner lake of WND's Daxigang Wetland Park by the park's public monitoring team on Dec 5.

Daxigang Wetland Park established a "Public Bird Monitoring Team" on Oct 30. So far, 92 species of wild birds have been spotted, including the Chinese merganser (mergus squamatus), Baer's pochard (aythya baeri), short-eared owl (asio flammeus) and other key protected wild animals. Come appreciate the park's natural beauty this winter!
