The sixth AstraZeneca China Ecosystem Annual Meeting, also a celebration of the 30th Anniversary of AstraZeneca entering China, was held in Wuxi, East China's Jiangsu province on May 19.

The second phase of the Wuxi International Life-Science Innovation Campus (I·Campus), an incubator built by the governments of Wuxi and Wuxi New District and AstraZeneca, was completed and put into use, while the third phase was launched during the meeting.

Seven companies, including a life sciences and healthcare research institute affiliated with Peking University, signed agreements to set up operations on the I·Campus.

The third phase of the incubator is expected to provide more supporting facilities for companies involved in biomedicine, medical equipment, and special medical foods.

AstraZeneca set up operations in WND in 1993 and was one of the first foreign-funded enterprises in Wuxi. It has set up different headquarters for production, distribution, sales, and innovation in the district.

Cui Rongguo, Party secretary of WND, stated that WND will deepen cooperation with AstraZeneca and provide policy support to companies, as it seeks to build a high-level research and development hub for the biomedical industry.
