About 80 percent of the merchandise in the store is directly sourced. Jia Yupeng, operations director of Dingdong Outlets, explained that by bypassing intermediaries, the model allows for more competitive pricing.

"Dingdong has long been seeking to establish a strong foothold in Wuxi, as it's also the fastest-growing market in Jiangsu. Dingdong has high brand awareness here," Tian Fei, manager of Dingdong's public affairs department, explained.

He added that the business environment in Xinwu district is excellent, and the local authorities have provided Dingdong with great services.
