A delegation of representatives from the European and US smart automotive industries visited Wuxi National Hi-Tech District (WND) on April 24 to deepen cooperation and explore opportunities in the evolving global automotive sector.
During the meeting, Zhang Jinwei, head of WND, highlighted the district's position as a major hub for auto parts manufacturing in the Yangtze River Delta. He noted that WND has established a comprehensive industrial chain with an output exceeding 100 billion yuan ($13.95 billion) and has fostered a growing cluster of new energy vehicle component manufacturers. In particular, the district has made notable advances in automotive chip technology.
Building on its robust foundation on the Internet of Things, WND has in recent years accelerated the development of intelligent connected vehicles and vehicle-to-everything applications. Looking ahead, Zhang emphasized the district's commitment to enhancing industrial capabilities, breaking through technical bottlenecks, and accelerating the rollout of real-world applications and business models.
He expressed hope that this visit would serve as a starting point for deeper collaboration between the two sides, fostering long-term friendship and mutual benefit.
