  • Three industrial parks to be jointly developed by WND and Guolian Group — focusing on AI, micro-nano optoelectronics and synthetic biology — were unveiled on June 13. That same day, 21 project agreements were signed up in the areas of park operations, financial investment and tech talent — totaling over 9 billion yuan ($1.25 billion) in investment.

  • McDonald's is set to deepen its roots in WND! A new strategic cooperation framework agreement was signed on June 9, with the fast-food giant planning to open 90+ new restaurants in three years. From drive-thru to smart digital dining, innovation is on the menu to boost Wuxi's service industry.

  • Senior executives from the Asia-Pacific region of Germany's Vibracoustic visited WND on June 12. The company's Wuxi air spring project has a total investment of 300 million yuan ($41.77 million) and will include the construction of six production lines. The first line has already reached full production capacity, while construction on the second is about to begin. Once fully operational, the project is expected to generate over 1.2 billion yuan in sales revenue. Vibracoustic also made a charitable donation to the baseball team of Meicun Experimental Primary School in Wuxi.

  • Danikor Automation Technology, based in WND, recently raised over 100 million yuan ($13.92 million) in a new strategic funding round — jointly led by Xiaomi Industrial Investment and Eastern Bell Capital. The deal marks a record amount in China's auto-feeding and intelligent tightening sector. The funds will boost R&D, expand production capacity and accelerate Danikor's international growth.

  • The song Lotus Flower in Full Bloom — which was co-produced by the Wuxi Symphony Orchestra and Macao Cultural Promotion Association — has been shortlisted for Jiangsu's 2024 outstanding artistic works.

  • Wuxi Shuofang Airport was named one of the "Best Airports of 2024" at the 2025 CAPSE Annual Summit. Located in WND, the airport is advancing a major expansion project to meet rising air traffic and reach 500,000 tons of cargo and mail throughput by 2030.

  • Yamaguchi Kazutaka from KMK Technology Wuxi in WND has received the city's first all-in-one social security card for foreign workers. This card enhances convenience for work, travel, and daily life. Expats in Wuxi can visit ICBC's North Changjiang Road Branch and BOC Wuxi with a valid ID (passport or permanent resident ID card) to apply for a social security card, with a digital version issued simultaneously.

  • The main line of National Highway 312's Xinwu section (Feifeng Road to East Jincheng Road) was completed in early 2025, linking Wuxi and Suzhou's expressway networks smoothly. The north and south ramps at Taibo Avenue have also opened, allowing through traffic to effortlessly bypass via the G312 – Taibo Avenue – Tuanjie Road corridor.
