  • The Wuxi-Hong Kong Tech & Industry Innovation Conference was held in WND on Aug 9, featuring four sessions that addressed global expansion in advanced manufacturing, finance-industry synergy, partnerships in education, and innovation roadshows. The Hong Kong Polytechnic University - PolyU-Wuxi Technology and Innovation Research Institute inked partnership deals with several enterprises during the event.

    The PolyU Wuxi Entrepreneurship Center was launched the same day, aiming to connect the university's talent and R&D strengths, HK's financial advantages, and Wuxi's industrial infrastructure.

  • Wuxi Genxinyue Technology, based in WND, rolled out China's first piece of 28nm CD-SEM e-beam metrology and inspection equipment on Aug 15. Fully developed in house – from electron optics to motion platform, circuits and software, it marks a breakthrough in semiconductor inspection and advancing the nation's chip equipment self-efficiency.

  • The Ruijin Hospital Yangtze River Delta Health Research Institute and Thermo Fisher Scientific inked a strategic deal in WND on Aug 11, teaming up on advanced diagnostic medical devices, organoids, and cell & gene therapy to power the district's growing biomedicine industry.

  • WND unveiled its first Torch Reading Space and launched a Torch study tour at the Bodu River Cultural Center on Aug 11. The space will showcase cultural products from local high-tech firms and serve as a hub for youth development.

  • WND and Singapore's Sembcorp Development held the second council meeting of their China-Singapore Cooperation Coordination Committee on Aug 11, signaling a new chapter in their strategic ties. Discussions focused on the Wuxi-Singapore Industrial Park's operations, future plans, and capital market collaboration.

  • WND led Wuxi in total investment for major projects in the first half of 2025. Ten provincial-level projects reached 6.91 billion yuan ($963.04 million), achieving 66.5% of their planned investment. Municipal and district-level projects recorded investments of 19.74 billion yuan and 23.84 billion yuan, reaching 61.7% and 51.8 % of their targets, respectively. All projects are progressing ahead of schedule.

  • The Ministry of Ecology and Environment has released the 2025 list of model cases for popularizing environmental science & technology. WND's Daxigang Wetland Nature Classroom is the city's sole honoree, offering biodiversity observation stations and waterside birdwatching points.

  • WND's night scene is heating up! The Summer Starlight Night Market in the Merchants City offers an immersive shop-and-eat vibe, while Meili Ancient Town blends classical charm with a modern flair. Visitors can explore the youthful trunk market on Jinhu Road, a nature-fused one at Lianghong Wetland Park, and even a grape night market where they can pick fruit under the stars. The upcoming Nanfang Night Market will gather snacks from across China. WND's night economy has never been more vibrant!

  • The first steel box girder for the bridge and landscaping project east of Wuxi Symphony Hall has been successfully lifted. The 1.04-hectare site features a uniquely designed viewing bridge seamlessly connecting riverside public spaces, offering a lively mix of leisure, culture, and natural scenery.

  • Lengdugang in WND is set for a spectacular transformation. As a key part of the Jiangxi sub-district waterfront, it links commercial complexes of the Columbus Plaza and RT-Mart. It is poised to become a new hotspot for leisure, shopping and community life.

  • Big progress for WND's Metro Line 5 this August! The left-line tunnels between Wangzhuang Road Station and Chunchao Commercial Street Station, and between Fangming Road Station and Xinyang Road Station, have been completed.
