Two of the projects are located in WND — Sino IC Leasing's Jiangsu subsidiary and a project producing 2,000 electrostatic chucks annually — which are expected to boost the district's semiconductor ecosystem.
The 2025 China Electronic Production Equipment Industry Association Semiconductor Equipment Annual Conference opened in WND on Sept 4, drawing nearly 1,000 enterprises from across the world, including 40+ from WND. With daily visitors topping 12,000, the event highlighted IC industry chain collaboration, aiming to boost synergy between technology, industry, and capital, as well as drive the sector's sustainable growth.
A WeChat mini program Meet Flying Phoenix was launched on Aug 29 at the Bodu River Cultural Center in WND, alongside a Qixi Festival networking event. Twelve firms joined as partners to offer matchmaking services, while 12 young curators from the music, sports, arts & agriculture sectors will host weekly activities on the program, aiming to make social life for young talent more vibrant and supportive.
WND and Wuxi Public Utilities Industrial Group launched a new chapter of cooperation on Aug 30 with the unveiling of a new energy industrial park. Agreements for 13 projects were also signed, focusing on infrastructure, innovation, green development, and fund collaboration.
WND and Jiangnan University held their first "Dual-High Synergy" joint meeting on Sept 1, launching a dedicated task force and a fund to commercialize sci-tech research. The university and leading enterprises, including Lead Intelligent and Buhler Wuxi, signed cooperation agreements to drive innovation together.
WND leaders visited the Wuxi Institute of Special Foods & Nutritional Health on Aug 29. Established by the district and Jiangnan University, WISH was named a key pilot platform by the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology in May. The institute has developed 20+ market-ready products and incubated six high-tech enterprises.
WND leaders visited Jiangnan University Science & Technology Park, a gov‑university‑industry R&D hub, on Aug 30. The park has incubated 1,200+ tech enterprises, including Dexter and CF Pharmtech, with 80+ high-tech firms and 30+ talent-driven companies. The WND Park alone hosts about 100 enterprises, generating over 600 million yuan ($84.09 million) in output.
WND leaders visited the Research Institute of Application-Specific Integrated Circuit on Sept 2. Established by the district and Southeast University, the institute focuses on smart power ICs, wide-input-voltage ICs, and IoT chips. It has filed 160+ patents, undertaken 130+ projects at or above the city level, and completed 240+ collaborations with companies like China Resources Microelectronics.
The 80th anniversary of the victory in the Chinese People's War of Resistance Against Japanese Aggression (1931-45) and the World Anti-Fascist War was held at Tian'anmen Square in Beijing on Sept 3. WND residents took part, with national model worker Yuan Caifeng at the viewing stand and Xin Xiaolan from Meicun sub-district and veteran/student Jiang Liuyan taking part in the parade.

The Bodu River Cultural Park parking lot will open on Sept 7. With smart underground parking and a cultural leisure space above, it offers 97 spots — including accessible ones — making visits to the Bodu River Cultural Center easier and more enjoyable than ever.
