The CPC Wuxi Municipal Committee reviewed the development of the WND Biomedicine Industrial Park on Sept 24. WND leads the city's biomedicine sector, holding half its scale, and ranks 18th nationwide in competitiveness.

Zhuohai Technology broke ground on its chip metrology equipment R&D and industrialization project in WND on Sept 26. Backed by a 1-billion-yuan ($140.11 million) investment, the project will build an advanced semiconductor base with an annual output of 80 units.

Xinsinuo Technology signed on Sept 20 to establish its pet food HQ and production base in WND. The Shenzhen-based firm fuses biomedical tech with consumer products, offering channel development and overseas sales solutions. Phase I is set to begin operations in 2026, with revenue projected to surpass 100 million yuan ($14 million) that year.

WND and Huzhu county, Haidong, Qinghai province held their 2nd joint meeting on east-west collaboration on Sept 22. Agreements were signed on healthcare and paired projects, while six of WND's subdistricts partnered with Huzhu counterparts. A 1-million-yuan ($140,000) donation supported education and medical aid.

WND and Haidong Industrial Park held a progress meeting on the Qinghai Zero-Carbon Industrial Park on Sept 22. The second phase of the Taihu Yixin Intelligent Computing Center, with 400 cabinets and 4,000 computing units, was launched. Companies including TECO Electric & Machinery, Grace Electron, and Lead Intelligent Equipment signed agreements to purchase green power from Qinghai.

WND and Yichuan county, Yan'an, Shaanxi province, held their 2nd cooperation meeting on Sept 20. The two governments signed an industrial collaboration agreement, six WND subdistricts partnered with Yichuan counterparts, and three donation projects totaling 1.26 million yuan ($176,539) were launched to support education and healthcare.

Wuxi natural resources and planning authorities recently unveiled two land development plans for the WND Comprehensive Bonded Zone New Area and the WND No 6 Area. Both areas involve large-scale development with clearly defined functions and are set to become key drivers of WND's high-quality growth in the coming years. The plans mark a significant step forward for WND in industrial upgrading and optimizing urban space.

The CAFFCI Annual Meeting & Expo 2025 opened on Sept 25. WND companies joined as a group, showcasing their industrial layout, innovations, and top brands in the beauty economy, drawing significant attention at the event.

WND-based Unim Innovation has raised over 100 million yuan (about $14 million) in its Series A+ round. Since its founding in 2021, the company has built a storage chip portfolio spanning multiple tech routes, capacities & application scenarios. With its full 256Mb–8Gb SLC NAND lineup now in mass production, the firm is driving next-gen & AI storage to sharpen its global competitiveness.

The 13th "Start-Up Jiangsu" Tech Entrepreneurship Competition and the 14th China Innovation & Entrepreneurship Jiangsu Finals recently wrapped up in Nanjing. The New Quality Productivity Center of Jiangsu Province has released its 2025 list of unicorn and gazelle companies. WND leads Wuxi with 80 companies selected — nearly one-third of the city's total. The district now hosts five unicorns, 48 potential unicorns, and 241 gazelle enterprises at or above the provincial level.
