Wuxi's natural resources and planning authorities recently released two key land development plans for the New Area of Wuxi Hi-Tech District Comprehensive Bonded Zone and the Plot No 6 in Xinwu district.
The announcement marks a major step forward for Wuxi National Hi-Tech District (Xinwu district, or WND) in advancing industrial upgrading and optimizing urban spatial planning.
Both areas are located in core urban zones, large in scale, and feature clearly defined functions, making them crucial drivers for the district's high-quality growth in the coming years.
The New Area of Wuxi Hi-Tech District Comprehensive Bonded Zone will focus on emerging industries such as biomedicine and the digital economy. It will strengthen connection with Wuxi Shuofang Airport, developing international logistics services such as supply chain management and cold-chain logistics. Leveraging nearby Xishan district's well-established industrial, residential, and commercial infrastructure, the zone will also promote new business models such as cross-border e-commerce, exhibition trade, and offshore commerce.

Plot No 6 is intended to serve as an integrated service area combining R&D, business, and residential functions. It will feature a mix of business offices, housing, retail, public services, and green spaces. With convenient transportation access, the area will also host key public facilities including the WND Government Service Center, Wuxi Taihu International Cultural and Art Center, and Boston International School. Plans further include designated land for power supply and fire services.
According to the plan, infrastructure construction and project implementation in both areas will be carried out in phases over the next five years.
