Wuxi Alps Electronics held a signing ceremony in Wuxi National Hi-Tech District, or WND, on Nov 8 for a new smart manufacturing project focused on advanced electronic components.
With a total investment of 1 billion yuan ($140 million), the project aims to expand production capacity and establish a digital, industry-leading smart factory.
Alps Alpine, a Japanese multinational and one of the world's largest developers, manufacturers, and marketers of electronic components and audio products, has been investing in Wuxi since establishing Wuxi Alps Electronics in 1995.

Hiroshi Yamagami, director of Alps Alpine, said that over 30 years, Wuxi Alps Electronics has become the group's best-performing overseas production base in terms of both sales and profits. He attributed this success to Wuxi's favorable business environment, including strong industrial support, a high-quality innovation ecosystem, and pragmatic government services, which give the company confidence in its future growth.
Sun Wei, vice-mayor of Wuxi, highlighted that the city has developed a complete industrial chain in the electronic information sector. Both the Wuxi municipal government and the WND are committed to providing top-tier investment support to ensure the continued growth of Alps Alpine in the city.
