WND hosted a provincial meeting on collaboration between high-tech development zones and universities on Nov 13. Since the launch of this initiative, WND has been deepening cooperation with Jiangnan University and China Pharmaceutical University to strengthen its biomedical sector. The district has incubated seven tech firms, filed 124 joint patents, co-trained 126 postgraduates, and carried out over 30 projects worth 9.95 million yuan ($1.4 million).
The 2025 Annual Session of the WND International Advisory Consultative Committee convened on Nov 18, bringing together global executives and institutional leaders to chart the next phase of WND's high-quality growth.
Beijing China Cool Culture signed an agreement on Nov 19 to establish its East China headquarters to WND. Known for operating music and entertainment IP that mixes Chinese culture with an urban flair, the company will invest 100 million yuan ($14 million) in the new hub, which focuses on IP operations, live productions, digital performance technologies, and cultural space management across Jiangsu, Zhejiang, and Shanghai.
The Integrated Circuit Industry Chain Cooperation, Matchmaking, and Exchange Meeting was hosted in Wuxi on Nov 19. Agreements for several projects in WND, focusing on chip testing equipment and semiconductor components, were launched. Fourteen WND-based companies also showcased their latest products at the accompanying exhibition, highlighting the district's growing strength in the IC sector.
WND is driving high-quality development with a bold push for high-level opening-up. From January to October, the district recorded 368.74 billion yuan ($51.85 billion) in total imports and exports, accounting for 54.3% of Wuxi's total. It also attracted $692 million in utilized foreign investment and registered 53 outbound investment projects, with $460 million in Chinese contractual investment and $390 million in outward direct investment.

Jiangsu has released its 2025 shortlist for green manufacturing, with WND seeing 35 companies nominated as green-certified factories and one park nominated as a green-certified industrial park. To date, the district has been recognized for three national green industrial parks, 13 national green factories, three green supply-chain enterprises, two provincial green industrial parks and 46 provincial green factories.
Two projects from WND have been selected as part of Jiangsu's 2025 third round of urban renewal pilot projects: the Bodu River Area Comprehensive Renewal in Wuxi Merchants City and the Huanyu Trade Center idle building renovation project.
