  • Leekr Technology signed a deal on Dec 23 to build a steer-by-wire chassis system production base for new energy vehicles in WND. As a leading provider of intelligent chassis solutions in China, Leekr specializes in electronic brake boosters and integrated smart braking systems. The WND project has a planned investment of 1.4 billion yuan ($199.83 million) and is expected to generate 1.3 billion yuan in annual revenue once fully operational.

  • Lear signed an agreement to establish its Thermal Comfort Systems APAC Operations HQ in WND on Dec 23. As a global leader in automotive seating and E/E technologies, Lear will use the HQ to develop and manufacture lumbar support, massage, and ventilation systems.

  • Wuxi Hi-Tech District Commercial & Culture Tourism Group and Yangzhou Slender West Lake Tourism & Investment Group signed a strategic cooperation agreement on Dec 20, bringing the well-known dining brand Yangzhou Feast · Quyuan to M Land – adding new flavor to the venue's offerings and boosting local consumption and cultural experiences.

  • The 2026 Semiconductor Investment Annual Conference and IC Top Award Ceremony was held on Dec 20 in Shanghai, where the list of Top 30 Integrated Circuit Parks in China was released. WND ranked second in the nation, just behind Shanghai Zhangjiang Hi-Tech Park, marking the fourth consecutive year the district has earned this honor. WND was also named "Best IC Park of the Year" for the second time.

  • Winners of the 2025 Jiangsu Governor's Quality Award have been announced. Two companies from WND made the list — Boton Technology won the top award, while CR Micro Wuxi received a nomination — showcasing the district's focus on quality and innovation.

  • Wuxi's 2025 list of rising tech companies is out, and WND leads across the board with 335 firms selected. These include 231 Eaglet companies – early-stage innovators with strong growth potential – accounting for 39% of the city total, along with 90 fast-growing Gazelle companies (nearly 29%) and 14 potential Unicorns (28%), ranking first in every category citywide.

  • WND-based AMIT has been shortlisted for inclusion in a national AI medical device innovation program. Its self-developed surgical navigation system helps doctors precisely locate and treat abdominal tumors during puncture and ablation procedures, making surgery safer and more accurate.

  • The Air Harbor Branch of Jiangsu Meicun Senior High School in WND has received the 2025 Architecture MasterPrize in the Educational Buildings category. Drawing inspiration from the region's water-town heritage, the design creates a lively, poetic environment for students and teachers.

  • Shan Jixiang, former director of the Palace Museum, recently visited WND. Focusing on the preservation and innovative use of cultural heritage, he shared his insights into culture and IP development and toured the Hongshan Site Museum and the former residences of Qian Mu and Qian Weichang.

  • A recent cultural exchange between eastern and western China at Bodu River Cultural Center featured local agricultural products, rural performances, and talented locals. The event highlighted collaboration between Wuxi, Yan'an, and Haidong in culture and industry, promoting mutual growth and shared benefits.
