  • The city of Wuxi hosted a signing ceremony for the AIDC Computing Equipment R&D and Manufacturing Headquarters project on Jan 4, along with a series of ecosystem partnership agreements. The headquarters project aims to establish a complete value chain in Wuxi covering design, order management, manufacturing and delivery, positioning the city as a global delivery center for AIDC computing equipment.

    The Wuxi Computing Equipment Industrial Park, the first of its kind in China, was also unveiled. The park is planned to cover roughly 1,000 mu (66.67 hectares) of land and be completed by year-end. Once fully operational, it is projected to generate more than 100 billion yuan ($14.31 billion) annually in both industrial output and trade.

  • The newly opened Wuxi Symphony Hall came alive with music on the evening of Jan 1. Under the theme "Moon over Taihu Lake, Dawn of a Symphonic era", the concert offered a rich musical journey that bridged the East and West, past and present. It sent a New Year's greetings from Wuxi, a UNESCO City of Music, to the world.

  • WND kicked off the new year with a conference on Jan 5 to accelerate the integration of technological and industrial innovation. The event unveiled a joint investment promotion center for industry, technology, and services; recognized a host of leading innovators and national champions; and introduced the district's first group of hard-tech "Rising Dragons".

  • NovaNeuro's implantable neural electrode project landed in WND on Jan 6. With proprietary hardware and breakthrough algorithms, the team offers a full-stack solution from electrode design to practical applications.

  • WND presented its Flying Phoenix Talent Certificate to Xu Haibing, chairman of NovaNeuro and a brain-computer interface expert trained at the Institute of Science and Technology Austria and Harvard Medical School.

  • BASiC Semiconductor signed an agreement to establish its automotive-grade 3rd-generation semiconductor R&D and manufacturing headquarters in WND on Jan 8. The project will focus on expanding production capacity and strengthening the supply chain, aiming to produce up to one million automotive-grade SiC power modules annually.

  • China Resources Recycling Group Green Fiber Company recently completed the acquisition of Vivaturf in WND. This move strengthens the company's focus on textile recycling, which injects momentum into the development of a green, low-carbon, circular economy.

  • MOVION Micro-Mobility Global Headquarters officially landed in WND on Jan 5. With a total investment of 350 million yuan ($50.11 million), the project will build a global operations hub integrating R&D, testing, marketing, and warehousing. Focusing on smart mobility solutions from 500 meters to 50 kilometers, it aims to serve Southeast Asia and the Southern Hemisphere, targeting annual exports of 1 million electric motorcycles within three years.

  • Senior executives from Jushri Technologies visited WND on Jan 5 to sign off on their Aerospace Connectivity Headquarters project. Founded in 2006 and listed on Growth Enterprise Market in 2019, the company develops homegrown broadband mobile communication products and plans to collaborate with the district to drive innovation and shared growth.

  • As the 14th Five-Year Plan period (2021-25) moves on to the 15th, Wuxi has decided to advance the integrated development of Wuxi Economic Development District and WND. By combining the industrial strengths of WND with the urban advantages of WEDD, this integration aims to boost both industrial foundations and city quality.

  • The Magic Cube Space OPC Community at Wuxi AI Industrial Park held its first project pitch review on Dec 30. Six high-quality AI and related projects passed evaluations and will move this January. This milestone marks the Wuxi Industrial Acceleration Center of iFlytek entering full-scale operations.

  • The name of Bodu River in WND was recently recognized as a provincial-level cultural heritage item in #Jiangsu. As the earliest man-made canal in the Jiangnan region, Bodu River has borne witness to more than 3,000 years of human civilization.

  • The 12th Global Edge Computing Conference recently took place. WND company Cloud Factory Information Technology won the Golden Computing Award for its core products, LjyunCSP cloud computing orchestration platform and EdgeAIStation edge AI computing solution. The award highlights the company's technological leadership and growing market influence in the edge computing industry.

  • Jiangsu's 2025 Innovation Consortia list is out, and WND claims two out of three citywide selections. Autowell will head the province's High-End PV Equipment & Solutions Consortium, while Yinbang Clad Material will lead the Aerospace Protective Materials Consortium.

  • Jiangsu's provincial authorities recently recognized top grassroots procuratorates and outstanding prosecutors. Xinwu District People's Procuratorate was named one of the province's leading grassroots procuratorates.

  • The 2026 Beautiful Meili New Year Folk Music Concert held audience members enthralled at Wuxi Grand Theatre on Jan 4. Leading folk musicians and rising local artists came together to blend lyrical southern melodies with bold sounds from China's northwest, offering a fresh gateway into Chinese music traditions.

  • WND launched its first all-in-one clinic on Jan 6, offering vaccines for all ages, at any time, and covering all vaccine types, making healthcare more accessible for every family.
