  • JD Property and WND signed an agreement on Jan 30 to launch the JD Wuxi Intelligent Robotics and Advanced Manufacturing Industrial Base. With a planned investment of about 10 billion yuan ($1.44 billion), the project will develop parks for robotics, smart driving, and high-end equipment manufacturing.

  • Culture struck a chord at the UK-China Business Forum in Beijing on Jan 30, when the Wuxi Symphony Hall signed a strategic cooperation MoU with the UK's Royal Philharmonic Orchestra, which was visiting with the Prime Minister's delegation — the event's only cultural highlight.

  • TransEasy launched its East China production and operations base in WND on Feb 5. With an overall investment of 520 million yuan ($74.92 million), the facility is designed to produce 330,000 surgical device sets annually, covering the entire process from R&D to marketing and training.

  • Xiaoha Huandian, a battery-swapping arm of bike-sharing firm Hello, signed an agreement to establish its Jiangsu regional headquarters in WND on Feb 3. Nearly 500 million yuan ($72.03 million) will be invested over the next three years to build 9,160 battery swapping and charging units, and deploy 632,000 batteries, generating an estimated 1.4 billion yuan in revenue. The project is expected to further strengthen WND's position in the new energy and smart mobility sectors, while providing safer, more convenient energy solutions for electric two-wheeler users across Jiangsu.

  • Senior officials of WND toured key "AI + manufacturing" projects on Feb 4, visiting iFlytek's Wuxi center, Danikor Automation, Weifu High-Technology Group, and several other local innovators to explore real-world applications and accelerate the building of a regionally influential AI-powered manufacturing cluster.

  • Senior officials of WND visited several schools across the Wuxi Economic Development District on Feb 4 to review new campus construction and expansion projects and address on-site challenges.

  • Around 1,300 employees from 50 teams took part in the 2026 Around Taihu Lake Employees' Hiking Event on Feb 1. Participants walked the lakeside route together, turning the hike into a shared celebration of development, vitality, and teamwork ahead of Spring Festival.

  • The year 2026 got off to a strong start in WND. In January alone, 15 major investment projects were secured, spanning integrated circuits, intelligent equipment, biomedicine, modern services, and future-oriented industries.

  • WND has been receiving UK investment since 1992, hosting 19 UK enterprises as of 2025. Last year, trade with the UK reached 4.83 billion yuan ($696.06 million), an increase of 7.7 percent from the previous year. Imports totaled 2.9 billion yuan, up 5.5 percent, while exports reached 1.93 billion yuan, up 11.3 percent, led by electrical equipment and pharmaceuticals.

  • China Resources Recycling Group Green Fiber in WND has been selected for the national major environmental technology program for its comprehensive waste textile recycling technology, becoming the only company from Jiangsu province to make the list.
