  • Construction of the Jiangsu Provincial Key Laboratory for Small, Micro and Special Embodied Intelligence began on Aug 26 in Wuxi, where CETHIK Group and Nanjing University also signed a cooperation agreement. They also helped address challenges, calling for stronger support for businesses and faster development of new quality productive forces as the district seizes opportunities in the rapidly growing robotics industry.

  • WND officials visited key construction companies in the district on Aug 21 and met with business representatives to hear about their operations and challenges. Relevant government departments joined the discussion to address concerns and explore practical solutions.

  • WND held a meeting on Aug 21 to review progress on key proposals submitted by the district's political advisory body. Discussions focused on strengthening the semiconductor equipment industrial chain and fostering the growth of the emerging One-Person Company (OPC) economy.

  • A devastating mudslide struck Gyirong county in Shigatse, Southwest China's Xizang autonomous region, on Aug 26. WND-based commercial satellite company MinoSpace responded swiftly, deploying its Dongpo satellite constellation for imaging of the affected areas. Dongpo-17 and Dongpo-19 were both produced on MinoSpace's production line in WND.

  • WND has secured seven honors in the second Jiangsu Patent Awards, including one Gold Award, two Silver Awards, three Excellence Awards, and Wuxi's only Inventor Award. Its six patent awards lead the city, accounting for more than half of Wuxi's total.

  • A new kind of urban destination has arrived in WND, Wuxi! Station Park, a commercial hub connecting with the B1 level of Taihu International Expo Center Station on Metro Line 4, opened on Aug 21. Featuring one Jiangsu first store, eight Wuxi first stores and several regional firsts, it brings together dining, retail, pet-friendly spaces, sports and social experiences.

  • Two top high schools in WND will open this fall, bringing the educational strengths of Wuxi No 1 High School and Jiangsu Tianyi High School to the district. The new campuses will share expertise in teaching, school culture, and curriculum design.

  • Wuxi Symphony Orchestra has wrapped up its 2026 European tour on a high note! From Aug 18 to 27, the three-year-old city orchestra took the stage at four major music festivals, introducing audiences in the heartland of classical music to a new voice from Taihu Lake. With artistry and passion, the orchestra won acclaim from audiences and industry professionals, showcasing Wuxi's growing stature as a UNESCO City of Music.

  • A new dedicated bus route serving the China Industrial Expo Park area began trial operations on Aug 28. Jointly launched by Jiangxi subdistrict and WND Public Transport, the route connects residents with key destinations and brings more convenience to everyday travel.
